Four steps to the greenest lawn!


Step 1:

Crabgrass Preventer PLUS Lawn Food

Apply after your first mowing in spring, between the end of April and the first couple weeks in May.
Start your lawn off right and help prevent crabgrass from germinating right away in the spring. This step contains "Team," a long-lasting weed preventer. For best results, you must water granules in after spreading or apply this step when the forecast calls for rain!

Step 2:

Weed-Out PLUS Lawn Fertilizer

Apply when dandelions are growing and temperatures are consistently in the mid 60's or higher, usually the end of May.
Be sure to follow instructions on the bag. This product contains a full feeding for your lawn as well as an herbicide effective in killing 33 different kinds of weeds. Apply to a wet lawn for best results and do NOT water this step in!

Step 3:

Classic Lawn Food

Apply late summer, August 15th to September 15th.
Specially formulated for lawns in the Midwest, this step contains iron which will give you the most beautifully green lawn in the neighborhood. Classic Lawn Food also provides slow release of nitrogen to keep your lawn lush and deep green the rest of growing season. Water this step in and be sure to sweep any stray granules off your driveway or sidewalk to avoid staining the concrete.

Step 4:

Winterizer

Apply October 10th to November 1st.
This is the most important food of the season. It will continue to nourish and develop growing roots and build stem strength even under the first snow. This step is also watered in or applied before a rain for best effectiveness.
