Meet Our MNLA Certified Staff
Jeff Feece
A landscape designer with us since 2001, Jeff Feece has more than 15 years of experience in the landscape industry. He enjoys the design-build process because it allows him to have a hand in every aspect of a project, from concept to installation. In 2005, Jeff earned his MNLA certification and also received an MNLA Honor Award for excellence in landscape design for his work on the Professional Skaters Association headquarters in Rochester.
Wendy Jasper
Wendy Jasper, assistant manager of the North Store Garden Center, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a bachelor’s degree in Broad Area Agriculture and a minor in Horticulture. She has been with Sargent's since 2000, working primarily in the Garden Center, where she enjoys talking with customers about their gardens. In 2004, Wendy passed the exam to earn her certification. Each year, she attends conferences and seminars to maintain certification and she continues to learn about many new products and practices to pass on to customers in the garden center. Wendy has also been active on the Garden Center Committee for the MNLA. In her off time, she enjoys gardening and quilting.
Paul Luhmann
Paul joined the Sargent’s staff in 2002, and since his arrival he has worked in the production facility growing perennials. He enjoys the fun working atmosphere and likes to keep an eye on the plants. Gardening is one of his favorite hobbies, especially growing vegetables, where his garden is almost an acre in size. Paul has degrees from Rochester Community and Technical College in Floriculture/Garden Center and Landscape Turf & Grounds and in 2004, he earned his certification.
Scott Moon
Scott, manager of Sargent’s on 2nd, has been MNLA certified for many years. He oversees the staff downtown, orders new and different products, and keeps our 2nd Street location running smoothly all year long. You have probably seen or heard Scott from time to time as he is a regular on local television and radio stations in spring and summer, hosting gardening segments and offering helpful advice. He's also been active on the MNLA Garden Center Committee for more than ten years, coordinating activities to educate gardeners.
Polly Noser
Polly has been designing functional and beautiful landscapes for our customers since 2001. With her MNLA certification and a B.S. degree in Environmental Horticulture and Landscape Design from the University of Minnesota, Polly is a wonderful resource and addition to our team. She loves kayaking in southeastern Minnesota, and she often travels to the Black Hills of South Dakota with her husband where they ride their horses.
Travis Paulson
In the spring of 2000, Travis began working at Sargent's as part of a landscape crew. After earning a B.S. in Landscape Design from South Dakota State University in 2004, he was promoted to landscape foreman. Today, Travis leads our Landscape Management services department. This is an ideal fit for a self described plant perfectionist who obviously takes pride in the residential and commercial landscapes he manages. In his free time, Travis enjoys working on his older home, downhill skiing, and simply being outdoors.
Paul Pike
With a horticulture degree from the University of Minnesota - Waseca campus, Paul joined Sargent’s back in 1979! He quickly became our "plant guy" and plays a major role in production operations and purchasing plant material. Over the years, Paul has volunteered numerous hours to the MNLA and has served on the Trade Show, Nursery, and Commercial Flower Growers committees. He is also a certified professional and shares his knowledge on a daily basis with co-workers and customers. When not working in the office or our greenhouses, Paul enjoys being with his family and doing projects around the house. He is also active in his church and other civic organizations.
Jeff Rosburg
For more than 20 years, Jeff Rosburg has been a huge asset to Sargent’s, making sure our landscape department runs smoothly. He stays very busy designing, installing, maintaining, scheduling, and tackling a slew of other responsibilities. Jeff passed the MNLA certification examination years ago, and he continues to further his education by participating in classes during the Minnesota Green Expo.
Nick Sargent
Growing up in the business, Nick began learning how to design, plant, and take care of plants at a very early age. Currently, he is the retail manager of the North Store, where he oversees a team of more than 25 employees and assists hundreds of customers on a monthly basis. He is active on the Certified Professionals and Environmental Concerns Committees of the Minnesota Nursery Landscape Association, where he has played a role in the statewide nursery pot recycling plan. In 1996 he passed his certification exam and attends workshops throughout the year. When he's not working, Nick enjoys skiing, playing soccer and spending with time with his family.
Tami Smith
Tami became certified in 2004, when she also graduated from the Horticulture Program at Rochester Community and Technical College. She loves to garden and spend time with her grandchildren. Tami also enjoys working on craft projects and searching for new and unique plants for our customers. She loves her job at Sargent’s and playing in her garden.
