2013 Sargent's Wee Wednesdays
Wee Wednesdays are gardening related classes for preschool and Kindergarten-aged children.  Each Wee Wednesday class has a 9:30 and 10:30 session (April - December).  Click here to view our upcoming classes themes.

All classes include hands-on activities, a story, and a tasty treat.  A $8 class fee covers supplies and snack. Additional siblings are $4 each. Please plan to stay with your child. 2013  Wee Wednesdays

May 15 – Three Sisters Garden @ Sargent’s North
Come ready to get your hands dirty and leave with your very own green thumb! Help us plant a Native American garden with corn, squash and beans. You’ll also learn how the “Three Sisters” worked together to achieve gardening success!

June 19 – Can You Name That Herb? @ Sargent’s North
Teaching your child healthy eating habits is important. Sargent’s Garden will teach them about delicious herbs and why they are great for us. They will get some great hands-on learning as they create a ‘canning lid’ herb maker and plant a beautiful herb pot to take home and enjoy with you!

July 17 – I Spy-Identifying Things In Nature @ Sargent’s North
I spy with my little eye two robins, a red rose, three frogs and seven pennies. Sargent’s Garden has brought the book to life! Your child will love exploring and seeking out nature’s treasures during our fun-filled scavenger hunt. What will your child I spy?

August 21 – Arrange With the Natives @ Sargent’s North
Wake up each morning to the wonderful smell of flowers! Preserve summer’s beauty all year long by creating a flower arrangement with native grasses and prairie flowers.

September 18 – Big Machines @ Sargent’s North
Just like Bob the Builder, we too have big machines! Your child won’t want to miss out on our demos of the machines that make our Earth and your backyard beautiful.

October 16 – Textures of Fall @ Sargent’s North
Mother Nature is beautiful at this time of the year. Why not capture a 3D image, using crayons and paper, which your child can have for life? Your child will leave understanding that leaves do much more than making great piles for jumping in.

November 20 – Fairy Garden Fun @ Sargent’s on 2nd
Let your child’s creativity fly as they create their very own miniature fairy-garden container. They will leave glowing!

December 18 – My Wee Christmas Tree @ Sargent’s on 2nd
It’s almost time to leave Santa some milk and cookies. Let your child impress Santa with their very own “wee” Christmas tree garnished with oodles of sparkly, bright trimmings that will live long after the holidays. An added bonus, this Wee Wednesday tradition will also include a reading of “Mr. Willoby’s Christmas Tree”!
