2008 Wee Wednesday Schedule

At Sargent's, we are committed to helping kids get out and enjoy the great outdoors through gardening. We strive to provide a kid-friendly shopping experience along with quality kids programs for both preschool and school age children.

Introduce your little ones to the joy of gardening with Wee Wednesdays. These classes are designed for preschool and kindergarten aged children and held the second Wednesday of each month beginning in April.

Each Wee Wednesday class has a 9:00 and 10:00 am session. All classes include hands-on activities, a story, and a tasty treat. A $5 class fee covers supplies and snack. Please plan to stay with your child. To enroll your child or grandchild in these fun-filled classes, please call (507) 289-0022 today. Classes fill quickly.

We are also working with Quarry Hill to bring you some extra special youth events related to butterflies and butterfly gardening this year. Please check back soon for more details. We look forward to helping your child's world grow in 2008!

Five Senses in the Garden
July 9th, Sargent’s North
We’ll use our five senses to explore the garden and its fruits.

Fairytale Garden Party
August 13th, Sargent’s North
Come hear great stories about fairytale characters inspired by the garden, enjoy the bounty of the garden, and make a pressed flower bookmark for your favorite fairytales.

Big Machines
September 10th, Sargent’s North
Don’t miss a demo of the big machines that we use to make beautiful landscapes.  This is a perennial favorite!

Textures of Fall
October 8th, Sargent’s North
Use crayon and paper to bring garden textures to life.  Your child will leave understanding that leaves do much more than make great piles for jumping.

Paperwhite Pals
November 12th, Sargent’s on 2nd
Turn your little one on to bulbs.  Learn how they grow and flower, plus bring your very own home, ready to get growing.  Don’t miss this neat process and product.

My Wee Christmas Tree
December 10th, Sargent’s on 2nd
Decorate your own “wee” Christmas tree with oodles of sparkly, bright trimmings.  This Wee Wednesday tradition will include a reading of Mr. Willoby’s Christmas Tree and a tree that lives long past the holidays.
