What a great weekend!
I spent much of the weekend outdoors. Last week, a few people mentioned they had bulbs up. I scoured my gardens and saw not one peek from a crocus or daffodil. Maybe next week…after the snowstorm!
While outside doing a few things, I was dreaming where to locate the additional vegetables and herbs I want to plant this year. In the past, I’ve grown several plants, but I want to increase production this year. My plan is to do more canning and freezing of produce throughout the summer. There’s nothing better than fresh produce, but in the middle of the winter opening a jar of home-canned tomatoes is delicious! All the enjoyment of being outside and hard work tending the garden is rewarding!
Just last night, I planted numerous seeds, including two kinds of tomatoes, onions, lavender, chives, watermelon, and another type of melon. In the coming weeks, I’ll keep you informed on my success in seeding. Seeding plants can be challenging,
especially with my habit of forgetting to water! However, I learn a little bit more each time.
If you need any seeding supplies or information, give me a holler or stop in at Sargent’s on 2nd — we have a full line of supplies for you.
