Veggie Gardening

Boy, oh Boy! I am so excited for gardening this year! Over the weekend, I cleaned up the garden and added generous amounts of compost manure, black gold. My goal for the veggie garden this year is to produce many tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots. Last year, they didn't fare well in the garden, so I am putting an extra effort towards those delicious goodies! My pantry is stocked well with pickled beets, so I may not plant as many of those. I ran out of tomatoes in early February, so I've got to can more this season. As with every gardener, the season is always unique. One area of the garden will also be pumpkins. Last year was my first season with pumpkins, and I want to do them even better this year. The raspberries and blueberries are looking like they've survived our snowy winter. Yeah! I'm anxious for them to also produce a few more this summer. The herbs are also looking delicous. From chives to garlic and thyme, the garden is exploding with flavors!
