Sunshine!
The last few weeks I have been on a hiatus from my garden journal. I'll blame it on computer problems, but it could be due to spending so much time my garden and in the garden center. We've been inundated with beautiful plants and happy gardeners looking for the perfect plants for their flower and vegetable gardens. Thank you all for stopping in and taking a look at our selection. It has been a pleasure trying to bring in a larger selection of herbs and vegetables to satisfy all of your cravings. I certainly enjoyed the selection as I shopped early Sunday morning for a few plants to add to my herb and vegetable garden. Brandywine, Mortgage Lifter and Mr. Stripey, all heirloom tomatoes, now call my garden home. Red Ruffles basil, boxwood basil and summer savory have joined lovage, parsley, thyme, rosemary, lavender and several other herbs in the herb garden. They smell delicious, and I'm anxious to add more plants to the garden tomorrow. Every thing is flourishing very well with the warmer weather and the zinnia seeds are popping up already! I was delighted to harvest a few radishes yesterday and eat as a mid afternoon snack. They were good, though I'm not a super huge fan of the spicy flavor.
Last week, I split a few 'Patriot' hostas to create a new bed around some shade trees. It has been on the project list for some time, and I'm happy to say it is completed! It looks great with the 'Wizard Mix' coleus I planted alongside the hosta.
This week, I'll be tackling those dandelions that are very happy to be in my yard and also planting cucumbers, zucchini and watermelon.
I hope all of you enjoyed the beautiful weather we were blessed with over the weekend! It was certainly a great weekend to pay respects to our departed loved ones and honor all who have served the U.S.A.
