Sure is hard talking about my garden when it is so chilly outside. Really all I want to talk about is Christmas. It’s a favorite time of year for me because I love holiday baking, playing cards with my family, spending time with friends, making homemade gifts, and attending church services. Christmas is also a time of reflection and remembering the loved ones no longer with me. It is such a very special time of year.

I remember as a child when my family would go pick out a Christmas tree. For many years, we would go to the choose and cut tree farms, but other years we would go to the local garden center and choose the perfect tree. Well, some things change and others do not. I still get my real tree, but I choose to have it already cut. Stop in at Sargent’s on Second to see their selection of Christmas trees; including Frasier, balsam, and Douglas fir. If you are looking for garland and wreaths, the staff will help you choose the best ones for you and also give you tips on how to keep them looking their best. Inside the store, you will also find lights, tree decorations, life-like trees, and an assortment of gifts for the gardener. They have a great atmosphere for holiday shopping and have a host of decorating ideas.
