Wendy’s To Do List:
√ Freeze pesto, two kinds
√ Freeze chives, parsley, and basil
√ Can tomatoes
Can spaghetti sauce- Attempted but I ate it!
√ Freeze tomatoes
√ Freeze Ratouille
√ Dry basil, parsley, rosemary, thyme, and oregano
√ Freeze corn

It’s been a busy week! Not only did I harvest from my veggie garden, I made a run down to the Madison, WI area for the best sweet corn in the world! Every year, I try to help my friends, Tom and Rachelle, with their produce farm. From picking tomatoes on one of 500 plants and peppers in a field of 100 green and purple peppers, I help do a variety of tasks.

On Saturday, I helped sell produce at the Madison Farmer’s Market. Boy is that FUN! Tom and Rachelle like to tease me about how much fun I have. “Fresh Sweet Corn!,” “Tom’s Tomatoes-Best you’ve ever tasted!”, and “Yellowdolls you gotta try!” are among the many things I blurt out at the market, which is attended by thousands. At the market, I feel like a little girl selling her produce, which really is the best I’ve ever had! Customers at the market have a hard time believing I drive four hours to help at the market. The time in the car is definitely worth it. Not only do I have a great time all weekend, Tom sends me home with a car FULL of goodies. So many goodies, I have to stop at friends along the way home and share the harvest.

So not only was my week full of my garden harvest, I have harvested another weekend of memories with Tom, Rachelle, and the farmer’s market! Did I mention also that the market has the best cheese curds and Spicy Hot Cheese Bread? They both freeze well, too!
